Two weeks ago I spent my weekend in the Singapore! Singapore is now already like the second home for me since I go there quite often for pleasure and for work purpose (as this post is written, I counted I've been to SG 6 times so far this year and actually I am going there again next week!). The trip was being organized by the kind Trick Eye Museum Singapore (thank you very much!) and I went there with my dear friend, Anak Jajan and we spent good fun weekend there!
This
picture had nothing to do with this post, it’s just that I arrived earlier
hence I could spend a little more time exploring the cafe! I love this roasted
soft serve by Sunday Folks. DA YUM!
For
those who don’t know (really?), Trick Eye Museum is not your typical (sorry)
boring & stiff museum, it’s actually a fun museum, or let's say playground where you can enjoy and actually
be a part and interact with the art. The medias are nicely curated 2D art treated
with Trompe L’oeil to give 3D optical illusion effect, and are designed to be
interactive, meaning if you want to see or get the better result of the optical
illusion, you gotta be a part of it. Originated from South Korea (and operating
in Seoul, Busan, Jeju), the Trick Eye Museum is now expanding its existence
overseas in countries like Hong Kong, China and Singapore, and hopefully
Indonesia soon maybe? ;PThe Trick Eye Museum Singapore was opened exactly a year ago (as this post is written) in Waterfront @Resort World Sentosa (Sentosa Gateway) in Sentosa Island, so this post is kind of the 1st ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, and in that case, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Getting here was actually very easy, I mean it’s Singapore and each area could easily be accessed with their public transportations, the easiest would be via MRT (make your stop to the Harbour Front – Vivo City and change train to the Sentosa) or basically using cab just like I did! If you come in group of 4, I highly recommend using taxi, since it’s faster & more efficient, not to mention, the cost could be relatively cheaper (depending on where you departed).
To get the ticket, you can book the ticket online here -> http://trickeye.com/singapore or walk-in and buy directly at the ticket station located in front of the museum, the admission fee is S$25 for adult and S$20 for children (age 2-12) and senior (60 and above), and the opening hour starts at 10 AM – 9 PM daily. There's sometimes special discount for online ticket bookings!
The giant
baby with kids caged inside!
Gustave
Caillebotte’s “Paris Street – Rainy Day” interpretation
Another
favorite: the art of love wall! Even though it’s mostly occupied with couples, you
can also do this with your mom or your best friends <3.
Edvard
Munch’s famous painting “The Scream”
Now we
all know what he’s screaming for!
Monalisa
book cover
Watch
your step!
The
bottomless pit illusion, it’s actually quite scary when you’re actually
standing there LOL!
One of
the things I love about this museum was the fact that they gave you the tips
& instructions on how to pose at each media placed next to the exhibit,
just in case you’re running out of creativity!
Caught
by the T-Rex!
All
eyes on me I am on a circus!
Finally
know how it felt to ride a big whale! You’re going to need to rotate your
picture to 90o to get the effect.
SKYDIVING
TIME!
No
this is a wrong position, somehow it works LOL!
Had to
rescue myself from being eaten...
...managed
to survive and now rescuing Marius from being eaten by a big Anglerfish!
One of
my favorite installation has got to be the popular Ames Room! I’ve seen a lot
of people uploading their action here, this would require at least two people
in the medium to create the illusion, the person on the right will appear
bigger and the one on the left will appear smaller. Here's me acting as a monster papparazi to the scared Julia.
The
Little March Girl
I AM
the angel who rides bike!
Snow
globe!
This
was one of my most favorite illusions as it could appear very real, actually
there’s a rope to hold on to and the mamooth would stand still to keep us
hanging, but I think this girl’s way too strong to hold on the cliff HAHAHA!
KPOP
enthusiast would love!
We somehow
have teriffic balance!
BALLERINA!
Feels
a little like Harry Potter and a bloody witch!
The Merlion boat looks incredibly pretty and this was specially designed for Trick Eye Museum Singapore and can only be find here. I am super positive about the hence each area could have a little piece of its origin value and emphasizing it is just never wrong, for example in Korea there’s the trick eye museum created from ice.
Horse
racing FTW!!! Another one specially created for Trick Eye Museum SG!
Spiderman
girl
When you realize you have enough of the amazing art installations, here comes the goodie bag design and the hand-held fan! Now this gets tricky >,<
Must admit I had fun visiting the Trick Eye Museum, the art pieces were indeed very interactive, but I highly recommend you guys to come in minimum 2 people when visiting the museum so you can help each other in taking pictures, well if you come alone, you’re more than welcome to bring your tripod and stuff, but during the peak days, I think that wouldn’t be extra convenient, especially knowing people are queueing and in a way you’ll look a little funny (trust me I am being sarcastic), and also travelling with your best friends = more fun right?!
...AND BESIDES! SCHOOL HOLIDAY IS HAPPENING THIS MONTH! COME COME!
