MEET AND EAT CAFE PANTAI INDAH KAPUK - JAKARTA

People come and go, so does PIK's food avenue, I literally lost count at how many new restaurants opening in PIK, something that I actually don't used to as I am always the more up-to-date guy, but there are just too many now I can't keep up, well but particularly this one: ON MY RADAR. Meet and Eat is one of the newcomers at Pantai Indah Kapuk.

Meet and Eat is located align with the newly opened Chir-Chir at Rukan Garden House, and easily noticeable from the catchy green signage. From what I see, their concept is a simple cafe built for everyone. There wasn't much going on with the design and stuff (and for some reasons I like how they keep it clean and simple), white colors and wood are the main materials decorating the interior. The range of the menu is mostly simple good old Western cuisine that everyone loves, only I believe with a little bit of their magic infused.

Had a quick lunch with sis the other day before we went to another meeting in Senayan, so let me just show you what we had that day!

Red Velvet Milkshake
Mango Berry Cooler - IDR 38k
 Cheese Bomb
This one was a very simple dish but turned out to be a quite impressive appetizer! Mozarella wrapped in beef bacon with their strong mayonaisse sauce becoming the highlight of the dish! The mayonaisse gave that punch of flavor and complemented the more neutral flavored mozarella and beef bacon! YUM!

Volcano Pasta - IDR 55k
The default spiciness of the spaghetti was already quite spicy for me, and here you can adjust how you want the spiciness to be. This Volcano pasta surely has bold seasoning, and for the lack of better english, it has this "Indonesian" character flavor to it. The pasta had the right firmness aka al dente, and came with toppings such as katsuobushi, nori & bonito flakes and last but definitely not least: perfectly deep fried chicken karaage with crunchy coating, tender on the inside and altogether fragrant and tasty!

Boneless Crispy Chicken – IDR 75k

This was obviously the winning dish of my lunch, the presentation wasn't anything fancy to be honest, but yes it's simple and turned out pretty amazing in terms of flavor and texture! The bomb has got to be the savory truffle sauce! Generous amount of truffle oil infused to the sauce and boy it was ultra fragrant when it's served to my table! The chicken was very tender and paired with the crunchier grilled potato. I will always have this thing for simple dish that can impress me in an unexpected way, umm... it was, but as soon as I smelled the fragrant truffle aroma, I was a bit more sure.

Then for the sweet closure: creme brulee!

The creme brulee was executed right, and had all the elements of what a creme brulee should have: crunchy and breakable coating, smooth and creamy texture with a bit of eggy flavor. I had no complaint towards this one.
In conclusion, for me, Meet and Eat is a simple cafe serving quite enjoyable food with relatively quite friendly price tag. The range price of the food here is IDR 65k with drinks at IDR 30k. I was a bit skeptical at first to be honest, but end up acknowledging that there’s finally a good place at PIK to have good Western food, because you know, I can probably only name 5 names when it comes to those who serve good Western food in PIK. Anyway, welcome to the neighborhood and be charming!
