Went for cakes hunting because I have been craving for them, I'm blogging about the pretty treats from Kitchenette Jakarta. Kithenette is probably one of my favourite restaurant for the design and the desserts. They have great great cakes and galettes <3.

As what you see from above, there are three cakes that we bought and try and had no regrets at the end. Why? simply because it's DELICIOUS!

So here are the main stars!

Red Velvet Cake In Jar
The cream cheese is not very cheesy, that's what I totally love about this cake, the cake is light, the texture is lovely and the presentation is super lovely. I kinda like this photo actually.

Oreo Chocolate Cupcake
Loving this one for some reasons: for the fact that the cream used is also oreo creme, but blends together with the chocolate cupcakes resulting something that doesn't taste very sweet, and for the fact that the texture of the cupcake itself is semi hard, so you can have that contrast from the flufiness of the cream and the hardness of the cupcake. Another reason is because the oreo biscuit is not solid, it's also fluffy and elastic :).

Red Velvet Cupcake
Hands down to the sexy velvet, this cake has always been my choice for every single visit, it's like the signature cupcakes from Kitchenette, worth to try, loving the cream cheese and the color is a very sexy red I'd say.

Kitchenette has always been a good deal. We pretty much had fun and the cakes can hold our hunger for about three hours before we went for another food hunting. For these three cupcakes, our bill was IDR 98.000.

I went to Jakarta Culinary Festival 2012 yesterday with my sister and one friend, in case you're wondering, the event is located in Grand Indonesia, 5th floor, west mall. I went to this event last year and I always wonder if there's something new to look after: new products, new competiting brands, excited for the cooking class, especially the barista class :).

Honestly, the event is not much different with last year's, I was excepting that there will be more booths of traditional and ethnical food, but since this is 'culinary', it's not about the food itself right, it's everything connected to food, you'll find a lot of cooking class, products exhibition, booths of wine and coffee beverages and I think if you really love culinary and everything connected with food (just like me), this is an event worth to visit,

One thing that really caught my eye is this turkey ice cream, I've been hearing a lot about this and I can't wait to taste it myself. This one costs IDR 25.000.

Not far from the turkey ice cream booth, I found an area with such crowd, and when I looked at the stage, Oh My God! Those two lovely girls are my idols from the first Junior Masterchef, They are Isabella & Sofia Bliss. I love them both, they are very communicative with the audience and they are super duper humble, they smiled and joke a lot with the audience, you know you can feel the humbleness.

<3 <3 <3

I spent around 30 minutes there, all that I bought was a cocoa drink from Delfi (new revolution of low fat chocolate drink LOL) and a pack of Tao Kae Noi for my daily snack at home. Along my way out, I found a very good quote, this is so true for everyone in the whole universe.

The event itself will be held during October 4th 2012 - October 31st 2012 or by the end of the month, so you still have plenty of time to visit the event. For each person or a single ticket is IDR 20.000 and you can also buy one with IDR 50.000, this already includes one glass of cocktail.

Since we can't find anything to eat inside, well there are a few, but we need more to fill these empty stomach, we cross to Plaza Indonesia to find something to eat, and we end up eating some delicious treats at Pancious, and of course, I'm on a mission to make you guys hungry, so here are the pictures :).

The good old Mushroom Penne!
I don't have a lot to say, this is just my signature dish choice everytime I go eating here.

Beef Carbonara Penne. My sister is such a lover of this dish, it's creamy, it's cooked beautifully and the cream sauce is not very cheesy tasting and it's just a lovable one.

Caramelized Banana Single Pancake.
You get the saltiness from the caramelized sauce and the sweetness from the vanilla ice cream, I kinda wish the sauce can be a little thicker, but it's such a blend already.

Both the event and the restaurant are absolutely worth to visit :).

I am very happy to annouce you guys that I'm making a new blog and it's officially published along with the very first entry. I have always wanted to make a food blog where I can post pictures and give review of a lot of restaurants that I have visited, and Thank God the chance is now.

Thank you guys for visiting eatandtreats.blogspot.com, I hope you guys will love the journey of the culinary experience with me and this blog, and I'll try my best to keep you guys updated, because we are always hungry and it's no longer a question, but a statement: "who doesn't love food?! we can't get enough!". LOL.

The very first entry of this blog will be about a birthday dinner I just attended a few hours ago: it's my uncle birthday dinner surprise! It's funny because he didn't know that we're planning this the whole time, mostly thanks to the lovely wife of his. and on top of that, he doesn't know that he's having his birthday today! That would have made it really weird but fortunate for us LOL. We set the scenario so he thought it's but an usual dinner gathering, but then after the dinner, the lights are off and his wife brought him a cake she bought earlier.

Fortunately, we got the VIP room of The Royal Jade restaurant, generally I love the ambience of this restaurant and I gotta tell you the private butlers are very polite, so that's a plus for that, I'm just being completely objective :).

Here is a photo of the restaurant's interior.

Flowers everywhere.
The Royal Jade is a chinese restaurant and you'll obviously would get the experience of the culinary of which commonly the appetizers and some of main courses are the same as what you can also get at others chinese restaurant, but obviously there's something that will make it different, it's the taste, the presentation and the impression. We had a bliss with the dinner and now I'm going to show you the complete list, in order of appearance.

I love this snack, it's a good old honey peanut with sesame. Me and my cousins can't get enough of this and we keep on asking for this while waiting for the main course to be served, it's so good, I love the balanced flavor of the sweetness and the neutral taste of the sesame.

Let's start with the appetizers, the first was the Crab Asparagus soup, this is also one of my most favorite of the servings, you know that famous taste of this soup, it's just great, the smell has always been like that and I like it that way.

I love this second appetizer, it's the infamous cold Chinese Meat Salad with Jellyfish. Hands down for this one, I love the freshness of the materials served here, for whatever I tasted, I will put in words so I can give the fairest judgment, and this one is a total pass.

A no better common meal to celebrate a birthday dinner rather than the fried noodle itself!

The next to be served is the Seafood Tofu Sapo. I like this one for how the tofu is perfectly cooked and the sauce that they're making just blends perfectly with the vegetables, the seafood and the tofu.

The good old fried Shrimp Mayonnaise, everybody loves this one! I like how the usage of the mayonnaise doesn't take over how the overall food should be, and this one is awesome. The crunch of the flour is also a good deal.

This one is actually a funny part, right after everyone loves the fried shrimp with mayonnaise, people just skip this one, for the fact that this is a vegetable dish LOL, but thankfully, I have no problems with vegetables and I give this a try. This one is 'mushroom with brocolli'. I adore how the soup got absorped by the brocolli and it made the brocolli itself a dish for its own. Heart it.

Next, it's the Hongkong style Fried Chicken. I honestly think that this dish will be much improved if they organize the presentation better, the dish is a good one but if it combines with a great presentation, that would make it even better. The highlight of this dish is the skin, it's very crunchy and tasty.

The last dish to be served on the dinner is the Sweet-Sour Fish. Nothing negative to mention about this one because literally, I love everything about this, I love the fact that the sauce is very balanced, the texture is not water like and the crunch of the fried fish is awesome...in love with this one.

Fresh dessert, good old fruits :)

Overall, I had an amazing experience having my dinner here, a venue with such ambience, where I can gather with my lovely family members. It was a night with great food, great laugh, love and celebration <3. I really recommend this place for having dinner with your family.
