I am always on when it comes to the hunting for the best afternoon tea places in Jakarta!

Another brand that doesn't need anymore introduction but deserve the publication! It's TWG everybody!!! If you are a true tea lover, you gotta know this brand. This premium tea brand from Singapore is expanding its existence and presence in the game at the "field" by releasing its first TWG Indonesia Tea Salon in Plaza Senayan a few months ago. Originally, there was once an outlet at Grand Indonesia (near Ranch Market) but for whatever reasons the outlet is now rebuilt in Plaza Senayan and thank Gosh that it's now larger, along with the more complete series of tea to choose and fancier dining experience.

I remembered when I had this afternoon tea session, it was raining and nothing beats the vibrance of yourself in the middle of the mild rain accompanied by hot beverages.

If someone asked me what is my all-time favorite tea from TWG then it won't take even 2 seconds for me to answer "Grand Wedding". Grand Wedding is one variant from the TWG black tea series and for my liking, the flavor, the aroma and the calmness effect are just great! TWG has its afternoon tea set with the selection of your favorites tea and cakes/cookies. I took the set for IDR 65k++.

Originally, you can choose between two scones or a cake, I chose the set with one cake, the macarons are additionals for IDR 15k/each. TWG black macaron is one of the best macarons I've had in life so far. I meant it.

Just look at the chewy yet crunchy texture of the macaron! I hope you're all hungry.

This is cake so delicious! The creamy texture mixed with the contrast from the pistachio nuts and the sourness of the berry is totally the pleasure in the mouth.


Overall, I was satisfied with what TWG offered:

Nice food and beverages: tick!
Personal experience: tick!

Tick tick tick and there goes the satisfied blogger!

Sure I'll go back here again, at least for the splendid teas! This tea salon certainly worth your visit!

I started to stalk pay attention to this coffee shop since my following on Instagram are posting photos of this new coffee shop in town, I literally fell in love from the first peek! Especially the branding and the mural painting! (going there in a moment).

I managed a lunch to meet up with my old friend from junior high here last week, she's also the one who's excited about me reviewing this coffee house! My first impression when I looked at the building was like...wow!!! it's such a nice place, kind of what my imaginary coffee shop should be, I have always loved the good old coffee shop with major usage of woods or either strong on its minimalist touch. I think I should build my own coffee shop instead of bragging around. So far, I'm already impressed.

Walking into this coffee house made me even more realized that I was literally in my imaginary coffee house, which is a good thing because I feel comfortable, owned and welcomed. I really love how they designed the interior to be spacial, minimalist, sort of vintage western style coffee house, the best thing about this is actually I am torn between labeling this as "Coffee Shop" or "Coffee House". Whatever it is, it definitely is "Koultoura".



This coffee house is so strong on its branding, I am a major worshiper of typo art and illustration and I love how the brand is using these four characters as parts of Koultoura and the application starting from the name card, the paper base, cup base to my favorites ones: the hanging paintings! They were like family portraits of the owner of this house. My favorite one was the rabbit!



A well designed coffee house needs a gorgeous book. Plus point that they have Monocles here :D.

Technically a sandwich with ham with generous amount of cream cheese, this dish does look pretty and it indeed actually tasted "pretty" decent too, even though I am not a big fan of cheese, I gotta say that the cheese was not overpowering, however I still need to try this dish for a subjective POV. This is Riska's order and she kinda enjoyed it.

Foxie's Hangover Cure

This was my order for the lunch, it's actually the brunch menu of this restaurant but I still wanted to have this because the description rings the most unique and I am pre-impressed by the description. It's such a simple presentation yet the simplicity left a rather strong impression. I honestly liked this one and the ultra-soft boiled eggs is pleasant. The only complaint that I have was for the small size, for me it's small for the same amount of prize spent on the Croque Madam.

This one's decent! I would recommend this one for the beverage, I wanted to try the coffee but too bad they were running out of the coffee beans so coffee was not destined for me that day :(.

Gotta try this hip new coffee house guys! With its branding and strong concept, I believe they can survive in this industry, they just need to make sure that they're keeping their feet on the ground and continue doing its best at serving. Koultoura is best for hanging out with your group of friends, I'd recommend during the night, I don't know I just love the vibe more during the night for a coffee.

Another new invention from Boga Group, Master Wok is now here to serve you guys the finest Chinese culinary in an express way. 

I attended an event held by Master Wok at Lotte Shopping Avenue (LOVE) last week, it's supposed to be a soft opening and in the same time promotion to the media and food bloggers. Maybe some of you starts wondering, why is it that a group as big as Boga Group is expanding its venture to a smaller section, for those of you who don't know, Master Wok is located at the food court area of the mall, but don't get them wrong, they're trying to reach another market: people who truly love fine Chinese cuisine and they might happened to be in a rush.

Bento is the concept of the restaurant, the ordering of the food itself is super simple: the fresh and premium dishes are served for your eyes only and you can select what you want, they also have sets for a better deciding. By the way guys, did I mention that each and every food served here is H A L A L? Yeay!

Since each and every guest was allowed to have their own bento set that day, I went with having fried rice, Blackpepper Beef, Enoki Mushroom Tofu and Fragrant Chicken. I had the protein, carbs and vitamins which means a good thing because you need a balanced metabolism right?! I honestly like my chose of bento set even though I am fully aware that it doesn't look very appealing in presentation, but don't judge the unattractive look! Judge the flavor! Remember, looks can be very deceiving.

If you ask me to choose the menu for another set, I'd probably stand still to my choice, but you can also try its fabulous "Egg Yolk Prawn", it's super nice and crunchy. (I don't have the photo because by the time, it hasn't been served yet).

Free complimentaries of soup of the day and Chicken Roll (should be the appetizer). The chicken roll is so crunchy yet nice! The soup itself needs a little more seasoning, but I love that they're using seaweeds <3.

I paid a visit to this restaurant because a lot of my readers are recommending to me and so last week, after a food tasting session at Lotte Shopping Avenue (which I'm going to talk about later in another blog post), I went here. Technically, it was a small and rather quick reunion with my friend.

This restaurant is located at Kemang which is like super far from my crib and that's why I always manage to find a way to go here because the hippest hangout places are here! And it's not fair that it has to be that far away, but I was literally happy to I arrived here and got to find out that the place is kinda nice :).







Along with all the recommendations in any form, 80% told me to try their famous "Eggs Benedict", so I definitely did have that on my visit (and also because I told you because I just came straight from a food tasting session, I'm freakin full). You know it's awesome when curiosity and passionate blends with cravings and in the same time relieving when you're there. I had mine with pork sausage and they also have another options like beef and chicken sausage.

TADAAAA it's the Eggs Benedict everyone has been talking about.
Interesting presentation, creamy hollandaise sauce and I couldn't wait any longer to get dirty.

After a little trial of its Hollandaise Sauce, I kinda like the fact that it's not cheesy! From the color I kinda presumed that it'd be cheesy and I'm friggin dead, but luckily it wasn't, but I kinda wish the sauce will be creamier and thicker in taste though. Meanwhile the sausage is nicely cooked and the english muffin is also decent.



I also wished the egg would be less well-cooked, it'd be perfect if you have the very soft-boiled one with the egg yolk pouring like a lava, the consistency of the egg itself it creamy and not greasy so I think it's still pretty much okay. Overall, still would recommend you guys having this.

Feels like having something fresh and a little sour for the day and I went by having their signature drink. It's just the beverage I wished I would have had that noon.

One Scoop of Strawberry Ice Cream for a sweet dessert

One scoop of premium strawberry ice cream, technically more like a sorbet, but whatever that is, it's so good! Loving a little play of texture from the caramel and almond piece. Heartfell!

It was a lovely small reunion with nice food along with the friendship that needs to hold on :). Thanks for the coziness you offer, Common People.
