WESTIN HOTEL SINGAPORE
This
post is the continuation of this post as
on my last Singapore trip, I stayed at the awesome Westin Hotel Singapore. I
don’t know about you, but I am that kind of person who’s looking for fun and
comfort in the same time when I am travelling. I have no intention to be cocky
or arrogant, as I have my own opinion, but I love balancing the tireness of
strolling around the city the whole day with the joy of relaxing on a good large bath tub
and comfortable bed to sleep on. Westin is a part of Starwood Hotels, along with
some famous names like Sheraton, St. Regis, Le Meridien, W hotels and more, and I have been a loyal consumer to them (mostly in Bali), as they have impressed me in so many ways!
Westin Hotel Singapore is located at the SBCD area of Singapore, in the Asia Square - Downtown area to be exact. Getting here is relatively easy (even very easy via MRT since Singapore’s MRT is like freaking splendid), make your way to the Downtown station (Downtown line – blue one), take the E exit and the hotel is only 5 minutes walk only! There you already save some dollars despite taking a cab, thank goodness for the MRT! I was also super fond of the fact that it’s only 5 minutes walking distance to Lau Pa Sat hawker center and 20 minutes to Makan Sutra Glutton Bay! Wherever I go, indeed my life revolved around food!
Unlike the hotels I’ve been before, they uniquely placed their reception and concierge on the 32nd floor, since I assume not everyone has the instinct to look in the first place, the elevator button was located somewhere on the oriental decorated drawer, but less worry as the kind & polite staffs are always waiting around.
I easily got stumbled upon the design of the lobby, I have the thing for simple, neat, classy but quirky design and that’s how I saw their lobby to be. While waiting for your room to be prepared, you can chill around at their lobby lounge with the modern industrial ceiling, or you can hop in to their bar. Their bar/lounge might not be crazy spacious, but it was indeed some of the most stunning I’ve ever seen. The mood of the color and the perfect lighting during the day really created that warm, welcoming & heartwarming ambiance, keep in mind that they also host Singapore’s most popular afternoon cocktails and afternoon tea, didn’t have the chance to try one, but hopefully when I return! My check-in was smooth and easy, quickly enough I was escorted to my deluxe room on the 40th floor.
The bed, mattres and pillows hands down were one of the best (if not THE BEST) I’ve experienced! It was just perfect to sleep on, extremely comfortable, perfect firmness and fluffiness, and without exaggerating, those two nights were my best sleeps in the last couple of months (you just don’t know the level of stress here in Jakarta). I just found out that they call the bed “Heavenly Bed” and if you're crazy for it, you can even purchase the bed! Well I would if I have more money! Other facilities include some of the commons in five star hotel: HDTV, internet access, telephone, mini bar, desk, bathrobe, sandals, couch and iron, but oh they have the Nespresso machine!
Westin Singapore is also known as an eco-friendly hotel, little moves that they do seem very essential like automatically turning off the AC when the guests are outside, a metering to see the amount of energy the guests have consumed, and it’s overall good, because it didn’t bother my stay at all. Instead of feeling distubed, I somehow feel like supporting!
Okay so it’s time to surf more of what the hotel has in store!
SWIMMING POOL
I know, I know, sometimes a hotel’s swimming pool means the world and you’re probably scrolling to see the swimming pool! The swimming pool might be smaller that what I expected, but still, it’s an infinity pool with the visible access to Singapore’s gorgeous landscape like The Sands, Esplanade, Singapore Flyer and around, but as you look the other way, personally I also enjoy looking at these scenes:
RESTAURANTS:
The Westin Singapore has two international restaurants: The Seasonal Tastes & Cook and Brew.
Here are some of the breakfast menus that I had:
One of the best things about dining here is the gorgeous view of Marina that you’re getting! They also open for lunch and dinner as well, and do keep in mind that the menus are being rotated at certain times.
Another awesome thing about Cook & Brew is their wine machine where you can just refill your favorite premium wine as much as you want (sort of self-service) and for whatever you chose, the charge will automatically go to your balance.
DAILY TREATS
They also have another contemporary deli called The Daily Treats located on the ground floor of the building, heard it’s mostly occupied by the guests who work at the office tower nearby. Quick scan at the menu and the pricing was affordable.
It was a short 3D2N stay but with much needed respite, long post and heavy photos LOL! I am so going to miss the bed! I think I’ve mentioned this so many times on my blog, when I travel, the type of memories that stick were the one which can manage to make me feel like home, and my stay at Westin Hotel Singapore was definitely one of them. Thank you for the amazing hospitality and experience!

TOUR DE BAR!
ROOM
The
size of the room was perfect for a deluxe room (at least for me), the
space was just proper, even the space they prepared for the bathroom! Told you
earlier that I love having my own private bathtub time and I had one here.
Sometimes I found myself disturbed with bathtubs that are too small or big for
my size and legroom, and this one was perfect! Talking about bath time, there’s
something about their signature (I assume) green tea scented bath amenities
that smelled so peaceful and relaxing, psst I always asked for 2-3 extra
bottles of shower gel just to create that foamy bath LOL! As for their shower,
glad they have the rainshower, I always love rainshower because for some
reasons I feel "cleaner" and somehow it kinda makes you shower faster, too bad
I don’t have one at home. The bed, mattres and pillows hands down were one of the best (if not THE BEST) I’ve experienced! Warm
welcome complimentary. Thank you for the hospitality!
They cater their guests with amazing hospitality. This was so cute! Thank you very much!

SWIMMING POOL
didn't edit this pic as it was fresh from my dewy camera (after a long night under cold AC)

I
don’t know about you but I find it pretty awesome.
RESTAURANTS:
The Westin Singapore has two international restaurants: The Seasonal Tastes & Cook and Brew.
SEASONAL TASTES
If you’re
staying at The Westin, Seasonal Tastes is where you go for the morning recharge,
they had pretty good breakfast range here: from Singapore locals, to the
international buffet menu. The food here was pretty good in terms of quality,
the venue was clean and service was quite attentive.
MY
KIND OF STATION!
Here are some of the breakfast menus that I had:
Eggs for days! Love their Singapore mee.
Oozing egg yolk!
One of the best things about dining here is the gorgeous view of Marina that you’re getting! They also open for lunch and dinner as well, and do keep in mind that the menus are being rotated at certain times.
COOK & BREW
Cook
& Brew is a gastrobar located on the 33rd floor and easily
accessible via Westin Singapore bar lounge, appearance wise, it’s a good place
to chill around with their comfort food, housemade produced beers and collections of wines.
Cook & Brew was spacious with several seating areas: bar seating, the
seating area near the entrance that looked like a lobby, the main dining area
and al-fresco area, overall, the design was chic, American posh with the sense of homey and comfort. Again, the positive value of Cook & Brew is the easy
and free access to the gorgeous view. The view really is the attention digger
here right!Another awesome thing about Cook & Brew is their wine machine where you can just refill your favorite premium wine as much as you want (sort of self-service) and for whatever you chose, the charge will automatically go to your balance.
HEAVENLY SPA
I
didn’t try the spa, but I was more than welcomed to surf around the
establishment. The spa is located next to their little gym.
AMEN TO THIS!
A
little tour of their grand ballroom which can accomodate up to 600 guests.
