I have been raving about this shabu-shabu restaurant A LOT and I guess it's no longer a secret that you guys know how much I LOVE Momo Paradise! Point of this blog post is to let you guys know that MOMO PARADISE is now expanding to the Central and now in PLAZA INDONESIA YAAAAY finally the closest to where I live.
After the Korean BBQ fiesta on my last entry, it's time to talk about my favorite Japanese shabu-shabu in town! I think it was last week after returning from Bali (and after not meeting my sister for quite some time) we went on a lunch date at the newly opened Momo Paradise Senopati! This is their second outlet following their first outlet in Pantai Indah Kapuk.

A little background about Momo Paradise: it's an all you can eat shabu-shabu restaurant originated from Shinjuku, Japan! First opened in Japan back in 1993 then followed by the expansion all over Asia at countries like Thailand, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia! They're also in the USA and at the moment (and by the time this post is published), 69 is the amount of restaurants they have all over the world.
I have been noticing how lately hot pot/shabu-shabu has been one of the most rapidly growth (savory) food trend in Indonesia, more and more hot pot and shabu-shabu specialist restaurants are opening or existing restaurants start adding in the option into their menu line-up which is good for me because I am such a fan. A couple of weeks ago I paid a visit to this freshly opened restaurant in Jalan Samanhudi Pasar Baru called Lac Mei Che! It's very easy to find as it's located precisely beside Classic Hotel. This is the sister restaurant to its previous and existing venture Lac Mei Che Restaurant, which of course owned and managed by the same owner.
Shabu-shabu is one of the many food genres that is rapidly growing in Jakarta (and even some main cities in Indonesia), and just a couple of days ago, a new shabu-shabu restaurant is opening in the happening (but still pretty empty) PIK Avenue: Shabu-Shabu On-Yasai, this marks their second outlet in Jakarta after previously opening in Lippo Mall Puri and Aeon Shopping Mall BSD City.
