LA LAGUNA CANGGU - BALI
My
Labuan Bajo and Bali trip was splendid! I feel like I was in my most relaxed
and calmest phase I’ve been in my life for like the last one or two years.
Blogging life and routine has been so crazy. Maybe some of you can’t relate and
wonder how busy can a blogger be, not sure if I am gonna let you in on that
secret, but there are so many open chances and projects outside blogging too
that I am currently working, and juggling the working life and private life is
not always ABC easy but hey, a work is not a job when you have fun with it, and
plus, I can always have my days off Jakarta and travel whenever I want!
So when I was in Bali, a lot of people recommend me to go to this newly opened beach club in Canggu called “La Laguna”, shame on me, I didn’t even know about it before (and I didn’t do any research), so I guess when a lot of people are talking about it, then it should be something! I stayed at Seminyak when I went to La Laguna and it was around 15 minutes car ride. La Laguna is located not too far from La Finca (actually walkable).
After I took a quick look on their social medias, I just realized that La Laguna is also owned by the same people who own La Favela, and yes La Favela is also BIG in Bali, even though I never visited it before (I did pass the cafe several times), but I did hear a lot of (mostly) good things about La Favela from friends. There’s something about La Laguna that looks like La Favela, just so vintage, gypsy, chic and quirky with vintage atmosphere, but in the most amazing way! It’s just... pretty!
TAKE
THIS POST AS A PHOTO TOUR
There are so many photogenic spots here, well actually, almost every corner of this place is photogenic and instagenic. I love the raw but thoughtful concept of this cafe/beach club and it’s almost impossible not to fall in love with such rawness and natural beauty. This cafe/beach club is best to visit before the sunset hour so you can walk around taking pictures of the place while waiting for the sun to set, and since it is quite chilly in Bali right now due to the winter in Australia, you can definitely feel the ocean breeze at their best during the hour. Unfortunately it just rained on my visit so the sunset wasn’t really good L.
The cafe serves mostly Australian-Mexican inspired food, I was really enjoying the surrounding that I didn’t even bother to take notes of whatever I drank and ate, but I must say that I was quite impressed with everything that I ordered that day. The prawn and polenta fries skewer was amazing! Love the seasoning of the prawn and the moist-gooey polenta fries, the pork sandwich was also nice: seasoned right on spot with fluffy bread (didn’t expect the bread to be that fluffy) and the caramel bowl fruits was very cute, but besides that, I think the fruit was pre-sugar-coated (hmm) because you can definitely feel the sugar and the wet texture. As for the service, the staff was friendly, just not that attentive, probably that’s a thing to improve.
I can definitely see myself coming back again and again to this GORGEOUS beach club! Must visit when you’re in Bali.
