One of the most frequently asked questions to me being a food blogger is... "can you actually cook?". Hmm... I don't know how to answer this question because to be honest, I am completely in between, I don't feel like I can cook in the most proper way because most of the times I cook with my feeling, but it turned out not bad at all so I know I have it in me *defensive*.

One example of my baking, this one was so easy to make I'm planning to post this!

Actually cooking is a fun thing to do and to learn to do, except if you're just too lazy to do one so that doesn't count. I personally do not believe that there's even one who can't cook, with a little will to learn, some of the most basics like fried eggs or fried rice could be accomplished nicely (I believe), do you think I can cook just like that without knowing the basic methods? I paid attention to my mom, watching the television series or look online for recipes and YouTube tutorials, apparently you could save some money if you're on a budget, remember, the drive is in you.

Apparently there is a platform for EVERYONE, yes EVERYONE who wants to learn how to cook and hopefully be a good cook, I want to share this happy news to all my readers and since I believe YOU have the potential.

Thank goodness for...

The first online cooking class in Indonesia!

Normally when you attend cooking class you'd have to pay but rest assure, it's COMPLETELY FREE!

I must admit that before I found this truly amazing website, I cooked almost everything the wrong way (more on that later), but let me explain you a little bit about Fiesta Seafood Sealicious. Fiesta Seafood Sealicious claims to be THE FIRST online cooking class in Indonesia (again it's FREE!), it's completely like attending college classes minus the boredom but there will be 'exams' and the top 'students' with the highest scores in the report cards will get the chance to win a lot of great prizes! One of it is the cooking course in Singapore! Yeah you kinda need to compete a bit but big prizes don't come easy right ;).

Not convinced enough to join? What if I told you that the main 'lecturer' is Chef Arnold Poernomo. Girls ready to drool! Together with him, Chef William Gozali and Chef Winny Giwangkara will accompany and personally train the 'students' during the classes! There will be four rounds of the cooking class:
1. The elimination round
2. The TOP 100
3. The TOP 10
4. The TOP 5
5. FINALE: main winner and favorite winner!

On the elimination round, people had to answer some of the most general questions about cooking and kitchen-eous area, worry free, if you don't have any idea, Fiesta Seafood Sealicious smartened up because you could learn on the first place some of those general informations about kitchen and cooking, like the knifes you need to use if you want to cut this or that, and guess what? I honestly just knew that we need to change the knifes when we're going to cut meat and spring onions because the knife we're using to cut the meat will contaminate the spring onions. I thought it was not a big deal but turned out it was *shocking*.

Right after the elimination round, the peeps who made it to the TOP 100 had to provide the cooking recipe that they made with supporting photo posted on the website and of course the ones with the most potentials and simply the yummy ones had the privilege to be in the TOP 10 and on this state the lucky ones would have to prepare an online subject lesson about cooking including some recipes wth Fiesta Seafood product and an on-ground video, meaning a recorded cooking demo video (presentation method is totally a plus point!), then the video should be uploaded and then the 'url' of the particular video is being shared online :). Might sound a little more complicated but the process should be fun. Keep in mind that this might take you to Singapore LOL!

Finally, the lucky ones who're making it to the finale (TOP 5) would have to perform their cooking LIVE in front of audiences and the real cooking competition between the soon-to-be champions is really starting! From the 5 hopefuls, one main winner and one favorite winner (based on votes) will be chosen and some amazing prizes are ready to bring home. Okay now I am personally curious!

Who knows it's you, yes you reading this now who's going to win, from basically someone who can't cook to becoming the champion of Fiesta Seafood Sealicious Cooking Competition! We simply can never guess rite? ;).

So I want to share you guys this too! I went to the Fiesta Seafood Sealicious launching and I got the first hand about this from the expert themselves: Chef Arnold Poernomo, Chef William Gozali, Chef Winny Giwangkara along with Anna Wibowo (Fiesta Brand Manager).
Some participants from the event were asked to do their own dining preparation, the object was shrimp and the participants were asked to demonstrate how to peel the shrimp's shell their own way, the purpose of this is basically to see if people have been doing it the right way...or not.

...but apparently the three participants didn't do it completely wrong but just not proper, and then the hero (who I am referring as Chef Arnold Poernomo) gave everyone the correct tutorial on how to peel off the skin (shell) *glorious sound effect*.
 He made breaded shrimps FTW!

Chef Arnold Poernomo, the Fiesta Seafood Sealicious ambassador!

Okay, I guess that it's not fair if I don't post my own cooking, of course with Fiesta Seafood products, trust me it's just so damn easy... how should I call this?

how about...
FIESTA SHRIMP CUTLET FRIED RICE by SHDS!
The shrimp cutlet katsu from Fiesta was just very good, well, I don't think I need anything more to say it's freaking Fiesta! I have been using their products for years, they're like the king of nuggets, whenever my mom's too lazy to cook, most of the times she went to the supermarket and bought two or three bags of nuggets, those could last for one week hahaha even when we (her kids) at the craziest, one or two bags for one day, bottomless stomach we got here!

RECIPE FOR YOU <3. See? I am such a dedicated blogger!
If you notice above, yes I am using the Garlic oil then I don't need to use anymore garlic on the cooking, it just made the fried rice smell nicer and a little hint of garlic just wouldn't hurt.

Don't forget to log on to
for the latest updates of the cooking class competition, now tell me who you are rooting to win?! Currently it's still on the TOP 10 round and I am asking your favors to VOTE for whoever your favorite contestant is and do a little kindness for one of them to get the chance to experience the main prize:
CULINARY TRIP AND COOKING CLASS IN SINGAPORE!!!

In the mean time, good luck for the remaining contestants! Follow my Instagram as I would keep you guys updated about the competition! And for everyone reading this, you can keep on learning how to cook by visiting the website. I believe everyone can cook so please don't give up on your potential! Plus don't forget that people who can cook are incredibly sexy and a plus point to keep your lovers around you, maybe this will boost your spirit ;).

HAPPY COOKING!!!

This is personally one of the most anticipated restaurants and it's now finally opening for public just yesterday and yours truly of course managed to fit his way to the early days! Ladies and gentlemen say hi to this new joint in the Senopati neighborhood:

Three Buns Burger and Heads Jakarta!

Again and again, a new restaurant opening in the hip urban area, Senopati, Senopati is obviously the 'it' area when you want to look out for great places to eat and it's such a sheer joy that Three Buns is making its debut in Jakarta here, frankly speaking, just the perfect neighborhood!

Three Buns is being brought here to Jakarta by the Potato Head group (PTT Family), and they're having another branch in Singapore in May. I guess the name told you everything already right? Yes they serve only Burger dishes here (six variants to choose). Frankly speaking, I was honestly stunned both in a good and not so granted ways when I first stepped my feet to the restaurant, it's because the interior was simply beautiful and minimalist with majority wood applied for the seating, the dining area was actually more like a tower instead of the common dining setting, totally not what I expected before and it was a pleasant surprise. You'll notice a van when you enter the restaurant and the van was actually functioned as the cashier area. The not so pleasant experience was more for the weather wise, since the roof was transparent, the sun strike like laser and it was just very humid! So very humid I notice almost everyone fanning themselves.

I came around 12 and the sun was probably on its hardest, warning for everyone who want to take pictures of food here (including me) because the sun was a bit tricky here, some area could be 'attacked' with hard sun light or got no sun at all, kinda hard to explain it you go here to know what I mean!

On the other hand, still stunned by how pretty and bright the place was. TOUR!

I ordered their signature burger, "Baby Huey", initially wanted to try their "Four Floors" with two stacks of Beef Patty, double cheese ZOMG and triple onions but I could simply faint of fullness after that! You need to know that Three Buns is applying the "self-service" method here so starting from the order to the pick-up you're going to do it yourself, but they easen up for you because you're going to be given a number (indicating what order number you are) and there is the number-board hanging and when your number starts blinking, that means your order is ready!

Burgers and fries might not be the most photogenic dish but when they're at their must-unphotogenic, they're simply at their best!

Baby Huey + Sherbie Hancock
IDR 95k, IDR 30k
This particular burger consist of 150gr beef patty, bespoke artisan buns and generous and I mean really generous dressings! The homemade sauce was slow-cooked and it really lived up the overall flavor, almost BBQ-ish with a little tanginess, it was just very tasty, bold without overpowering it in a bad state. The meat was cooked to perfection, FYI the default cooking level for the meat is medium, but you can custom it how you want it. The buns were perfectly soft probably the best bun consistency I've tried so far. Overall it was a pretty satisfying portion.

The beverage was pretty refreshing and I just love the sourness from the lemonade. Simply good.

Naughty Fries
IDR 45k
The fries here are not the common lean cuts, more like various shapes but I feel like that's the quality of it and I was just fond of the consistency. The Bearnaise sauce and minced beef chili made the overall flavor a little more vibrant, tangy, BBQ-ish and spicy, but the parmesan cheese kinda tone it down a bit. This just worth a try.

I must say I had an awesome time dining here, Three Buns dining concept was supposedly for take-away orders (during the day, seats originally will be available on 5 PM) but hereby I beg the team to think it over (especially today when some people walked out because they could only 'take-away'), it's just because the experience and vibe of eating the delicious burgers won't be the same when it's taken away no matter how humid the place is and especially if you care about the photo-purpose. As in for pricing, I personally think it's a little hefty for one portion of burger, fries and beverage, I spent around IDR 200k for just 'this', but after having the meal, it kinda worth the money I spent :).

Come come come, I have the psychic ability and I believe this burger joint will be crowded soon!

I believe I don't need to tell you what Genji Pie is, it's like the Katy Perry of pop music, very popular!

I mean... who can resist those beautiful heart-shaped pastries? At least I don't! Genji Pie pastries by Monde remain one of my most favorite and yet most memorable treats from childhood and I am so glad that they are still going strong, and I have EVEN BETTER news to tell you... Genji Pie is experimenting their own figures to be more and more interesting for its lovers and soon-to-be-fans!

I am just very thrilled to annouce you guys to...
GENJI SHOPPE POP-UP STORE!
So what exactly is Genji Shoppe Pop-Up Store? Okay, so let me put it this way, the original Genji pies in "dresses" and "make-up", short to say: FUN AND MORE INTERESTING! (and I am talking about this in a good way). Okay, honestly talking, Genji pies actually looked appealing already because of their shapes and the ideas to make the products even more interesting is to conceptualize the product and the Genji Shoppe Pop-Up Store managed to be just the right platform! It's a pop-up store that is currently standing at the lobby area of Street Gallery (Pondok Indah Mall 3) for one whole month but let's just pray that this will stay longer.

The pop-up store was made out of boards decorated with hand-painted... I repeat... freaking HAND-PAINTED illustrations by some of Jakarta's most famous and talented illustrators: Rukmunal Hakin, Lala Bohang, Ykha Amelz, Muhammad Taufiq and Monica Hapsari! Hands down to their work of arts, they were beautiful and intimidating, somehow I feel talentless as a graphic design student FML!

This particular painting was actually created in just three freaking hours before the event started. Insane right?
Now let me take you to tour the store!

The store was majorly decorated with white elements and vintage stuffs! Was not THAT spacious but it's just on the proper size.

Brought the invitation along! It was artsy cute with yet another pop-up.

Love the mugs! They're for sale, I heard it's around IDR 100k/each.

The three L(s) we need in life!

On process! Looking tempting already!

Another favorite Genji Pie product: Pie Sands!

I got the privilege to try some of their signature creations back on the grand opening and generally they were pretty good, keep scrolling and I'll tell you why you have to try before making judgements.

A Jar of Heart
IDR 20k/100 gram
I love the naming: "A Jar of Heart", this is the mini version of the famous heart shaped Genji pie pastry and what makes them a little more special is the chocolate filling in the middle just like Genji pie sandwich! Might sound and look simple but they're actually pretty good and addicting, pretty little guilty pleasures.

When Sour Meets Choco
IDR 32k
Now this gets more and more interesting, the appearance was definitely a lot more complex, interesting and vibrant than the previous and in fact, this one was probably my favorite among all! I love how the sourness of the fruit could balance the hazelnut chocolate which happened to be pretty rich and 'fudge' like consistency. Me also loving the contrast from the pie and the fruits.

Sleeping Beauty
IDR 25k
Short to say, this was a sponge cake in a glass, but do not underestimate this because honestly this was not bad at all, but if you ask me which one was my favorite then the previous one won! When you scoop inside you'll find the Genji pie hiding somewhere inside, not visually existed outside. The strawberry flavor dominated the overall flavor but for me it was just proper and not overpowering.

Magic Cinnamon Pie
IDR 28k
This one was another interesting, I always love when people start to get so creative with elements, flavor and texture. This one got all the three plus a little cinnamon hint. This was pretty refreshing.

Sweet Sweet Love
IDR 35k
Generous amount of Raspberries given to a portion certainly one of the main reasons why I love this very berry much. Beside the pretty appearance and simple presentation, this one worth your try because raspberry and chocolate had the least possibility to go wrong, you might not see the chocolate directly because the chocolate fudge was hiding around the raspberries. Nice one!

This Is Not A Martini
IDR 25k
What's with the naming they all sounded cute btw *clear throat*, the concept of having this particular dessert is to actually dip the Genji pies (5 mini pies) to the white chocolate mousse, the mousse here was actually more like a dipping, but actually when you scoop every single thing just how you wanted it, it should be okay!

Ratatouille Goes Berries
IDR 25k
This one happened to be everyone's favorite that day but since you know I couldn't deal with cheese so there you go... it's unfair to make upfront judgement to cheese but at least I told you that everybody loved this right! It's actually Genji pie crumbles as the base then topped with Strawberry and Blueberry cream cheese, it's nice that they also gave fruits on top not only as garnish but as another hint of flavor.

It took a heart-shaped pastry to make me fall in love <3. 40 friggin years since the first and remain solid.

As what I have told you earlier, the Genji Shoppe Pop-Up Store will only be available for the whole month, approximately until May 11th so you better be hurry! I heard the vibe of this pop-up store is now going pretty crazy, so many people have posted this on their Instagram. With affordable prices, pretty decent taste and fun store concept, this might be the place where sweet tooth wants to go and won't be intimidated.

BTW, if you happen to visit the store, take pictures and upload them, don't forget the hashtag #genjishoppe along with the caption :).
