BUT FIRST COFFEE JAKARTA

HELLO GUYS!!! Sorry that I haven’t been active lately, all because my laptop suddenly broke down and wouldn’t turn on (I mean technically), I brought my laptop for service right away and the mechanic said that it’s all because of the IPC something so it needs to be in the service station for more than a week! Seriously, without my laptop I feel like certain parts of my life and work is tearing apart, and I am left with so many to-be-finished deadlines I probably won’t be very active on the social medias for a few days. I’ve been sitting here in a coffee shop for around 7 hours and feel extremely bored so I decided to write a blog post.

Doing paper works and actually doing a proper technical writing is way different that writing a story-telling blog post like this, I just don’t stop nor pause when I write blog posts because I totally had fun and I get inspired all the time.
One of the most fascinating things about living in Jakarta is how rapid the F&B trend is, and being a foodie myself, it must be something that I really enjoy. Earlier today I went to this newly opened coffee shop in the Dharmawangsa area called But First Coffee, and yet another one in the south.
I’ve always loved the Southern part of Jakarta, not sure why, but starting from the people to the cafes, they’re more diversed, catchy and in a sense, gorgeous! I really don’t know how to explain it, I just feel that way.
But First Coffee is a petite coffee shop located in back area of the Pelaspas building, which also host the recently hyped Snctry healthy bar, the construction of the building itself is not yet finished, but there is something about the unfinished parts that are really hipster, industrial, minimalist and for me, beautiful. Just as I expected after browsing their Instagram profile, the coffee shop is dominated with wood materials, and the beautiful scent of coffee lingered all over the shop. If you smoke, they also provide the outdoor area which featured minimalist round wood tables.
They are absolutely not abandoning the hipsters, there are some international magazines well known to most of us, such as Kinfolk, Monocle, Surface, Hypebeast and all.
The menu options here are pretty simple, but their best sellers (and specials) are the iced cappuccino (heard they are using a special method to deal with the milk), ristretto, and the manual brew. I opted for their iced cappuccino while my friend went with their aeropress manual brew and ristretto.
The iced cappucino had this thick milk foam making the overall texture to be slightly creamier, aside from that, I found the cappuccino pretty okay and still enjoyable, my friend told me she enjoyed every bit of her aeropress manual brew: just the right acidity and altogether well-balanced flavor, however, I wasn’t a fan of their ristretto as it was very deep, very rough and didn’t blend well with the sparkling water, the coffee flavor seemed to dominate the whole thing, and their doughnut was just passable.

I can still find myself going back and forth this pretty little coffee shop, probably for some quality talk with my best friends, but clearly not at the moment as I believe it’s soon going to be the talk of the town and gosh the place must be very crowded it could suffocate my feeling, good luck But First Coffee and thanks for reading guys!
