I have been extremely busy this month, if not this has probably been the busiest month so far this year. Right after coming back from Bali, everyday is basically waking up in the morning, doing shoots, go to 1/2 events per day, and no I am not whining, I am just 'expressing' how physically exhausted I am this month but in the same time so very grateful that life keeps me busy #blessed.
Makna Coffee is a new venture by Makna Creative, which is a creative studio owned by Ernanda Putra and Keenan Pearce. Just earlier today I managed to visit this coffee shop which just opened yesterday (August 9th 2017) in Kuningan City and today they're having a IDR 20k flat for all coffee. I got the Iced Cappuccino for me and not sure whether it was pretty packed the time of my visit that they made the coffee with such pace but the coffee had this burnt taste to it leaving a rough aftertaste on my palate, but was it horrible? Not at all. I believe they can do better and I need more future visits too.

Anyway they have limited seating capacity outside the coffee shop, and I think the coffee shop's meant more for take away (aka Grab and Go), the coffee shop also shares the same space with the Makna Creative office which guests can't freely go in and out, but can definitely peek inside through the glass wall and the connecting door. I didn't take any pictures of the space I honestly tend to get lazy when a restaurant/cafe/coffee shop is crowded.

If you ask me to name one of my favorite coffee shops in the North, Ottoman's Coffee Brewers surely one of the ones that comes to my mind instantly. My visit last week marks my third time to this coffee shop as well as my first time trying their all day breakfast and brunch menus which they just launched not too long ago and I am going to share my experience and review in this entry, and hey this would be my first review of Ottoman's too (I didn't take any pictures on the previous two visits).
WHAT'S UP JULY?! A couple of days ago I went to have a coffee date with my good friend at this newly opened coffee shop called Harapan Djaya that's located around Panglima Polim area, precisely across Woodpecker Coffee. Technically this coffee shop has almost nothing to do with the movie Filosofi Kopi (nor the setting) which is coming next week, but one of the owners of this coffee shop, Muhammad Aga, starred in the movie. I honestly can't wait for the movie because I absolutely love the first one!
For those who have heard of the rumor, rest assure as it's CONFIRMED! The highly anticipated Toby's Estate is finally opening its first Indonesia outlet in PIK Avenue, and of course yours truly got the first access and exclusive preview of the outlet, overall it's still pretty raw and construction is still going and because I don't want to spoil all the excitement I am going to show you some pictures that I took when they invited me to come and see the training process and will definitely make a full blog post in the future.
The North is certainly the home for up and growing coffee shops in Jakarta and quality wise, more and more new ones start to debut very-very well.

A few weeks ago, I was invited by Maxx Coffee to be one of the speakers for their Awesome Autumn drinks launch and talked a bit about my passion in blogging. I have always loved sharing positive things for people and hoping they would get inspired by what I do, and believe it or not back when I was in highschool, I have always wanted to inspire people, I thought it was cool in the kindest way, but back then I had no clue what I was going to become, so long story short (and I've shared this a million times) I started this blog and sort of like drowned in my own passion and here I am running this blog for more than 4 years already (I know right I still can't even believe it). I believe in the power of passion and your self-power, your future is in your hands.
August was a bit slow comparing to June/July, I hope September is as "ceria" as the title of the song "September Ceria". September 2016 marks the opening of two new shopping malls in Jakarta: Neo Soho and PIK Avenue, I predict more and more coffee shops are opening and I really do hope to see more and more brunch cafes as we're heading there, but still lacking the amount as well as the good ones, but so far, this year has been terrific for F&B as most of the new coffee shops, cafes and restaurants have been intensifying the importance of quality after just being physically beautiful. Kudos to 2016 so far!
First knew about NORD from FoodDirectory (thank you guys!) and they captured the petite coffee shop beautifully through their pictures so I guess it's time to give it a try!

...and yet another one in town, as this post is written, NORD is the newest coffee shop there is in Jakarta right now. The amount of coffee shops in Jakarta is overwhelming or should I say too many to the point where I don't even know some of them actually exists, they're literally spread all over Jakarta: from the North to the South, from those inside the malls to the independent ones, and unfortunately, only the best ones stand out from the crowd, but I am constantly updating my coffee adventure and share it to you guys.

I once made my list of the best coffee shops in Jakarta, and almost too ashamed to admit that due to the amateur writing and photography skill it's almost criminal. The post was made in 2013, back then I often use the term "the best" to a list that was technically covers all coffee shops in Jakarta, so it's not best-best, but this boy right here is all grown up, has his mind and sense opened to the F&B scene (in a way better educated by experience), is realizing that Starbucks' coffee is not the best best (I always go for the fraps nowadays), and is now taking better pictures! So I guess this post should be the more reliable one.
July was a terrific month for F&B and not to mention, it's where my birthday is, but anyway here are the new cafes and restaurants opening this August 2016! If you know any, please let me know so I can come and visit :).

I did not plan to come here at all, I just finished a meeting at Native Coffee where I accidentally looked at the left side of the street and there was this huge "HE.BREWS" sign, I told my brother to turn around and had a cuppa coffee here before going to another appointment. He.Brews is another new coffee shop in Pantai Indah Kapuk, located at the Ruko Plaza - Pantai Indah Utara (align with Kafe TIA), it's located in the same level and sharing the spot with Chapter Nine shop. I must say I love their coffee and I can see that they're pretty serious with it. The character of their coffee reminds me of Native's to be honest and that's not a bad thing because I really-really like Native's coffee. Price range for coffee here starts at IDR 30k.
At this post is written, they're having the "pay as you like" promotion, but I always remind everyone to pay as they deserve :). The soft opening days is around next week. Do check out their Instagram for more details.

So today is a pretty hectic day for me, I have been all up from 8 AM to do to my works and finish all the crazy deadlines that has been haunting me ever since I was back from Bali, but in the middle of my activity, I had a few hours off for break before attending another restaurant opening, and being around Kuningan area, I took advantage to actually come and check out this newly opened coffee shop that I lately see pretty often on my Instagram "explore" tab: LUCKY CAT COFFEE & KITCHEN.
A few days ago I went to this newly opened coffee shop in Sunter called Atomic Espresso Bar. Thought I wanna briefly share my experience with you here.

Atomic Espresso Bar is located in a Sunter neighborhood located just behind Satya Negara hospital. For your information it’s a very well known hospital and medical center with specialization in nerve problems. My family is a loyal customer to the hospital and it’s really recommended.
If Melbourne is the coffee capital of the world claimed by many, then here in town, the South must be Jakarta’s very own coffee capital, also the home to some of my favorite coffee shops in Jakarta.
Along with the rapid growing number of Coffee shops in Jakarta, particularly in the west, here comes another one: Simetri Coffee in Puri Indah which will open its door for public TOMORROW (08/01/16). Take note bitches! I came to their soft-opening days #access just earlier today and now I am blogging this for you.
Simetri Coffee is located precisely at Jalan Kembang Abadi 7, Puri Indah. Anyway, it can be accessed easily by Waze or Google Maps (yay FTW!).  They prefer to be called a coffee house rather than a coffee shop due to its venue that looked more like a cozy and casual home rather than a coffee shop, and just like the common houses, they have a living room located in the center of their space, designed nicely to create the homey ambiance.
Hands down to THE BEST Christmas tree I’ve seen.

I am writing this post, and I am honestly having a hard time to describe Ruang Seduh. To me, it’s a not a coffee shop, not that typical coffee shop where you go when you desperately need a cup of iced caramel macchiato, order at the counter and have your name called for pick up and chill around at the spot for hours, no, not this one. They indeed sell coffee here, but I don’t know, calling Ruang Seduh a coffee shop is not exactly right to describe it. This is my own personal opinion.
HELLO GUYS!!! Sorry that I haven’t been active lately, all because my laptop suddenly broke down and wouldn’t turn on (I mean technically), I brought my laptop for service right away and the mechanic said that it’s all because of the IPC something so it needs to be in the service station for more than a week! Seriously, without my laptop I feel like certain parts of my life and work is tearing apart, and I am left with so many to-be-finished deadlines I probably won’t be very active on the social medias for a few days. I’ve been sitting here in a coffee shop for around 7 hours and feel extremely bored so I decided to write a blog post.
