When I first heard about the news I quickly checked out their Instagram and was super thrilled, welcoming Hasselblad X1D the world's first Medium Format mirrorless camera! This camera is retailed at $8895, I know I know it's not cheap, but I am so going to save up for this hot little baby!

Just got home after attending a banquet dinner hosted by Grand Hyatt Jakarta (thank you for having me at the event, it was an honor), Residence onFive was the home to approximately 100 invited guests, we were basically there to enjoy the night and wonderful things Grand Hyatt has prepared for us. We (or I) was basically just prepared myself to be surprised because I know when it comes to Grand Hyatt, I know it’s going to be an awesome one.

Finally after quite some time, Grand Hyatt officially re-launches The Residence ONFIVE for public! I attended the reopening party just earlier and here I am sharing my experience with you.
It’s funny that when I actually shared a collaged picture on my Instagram, so many of you thinks that it’s actually some kind of a buffet restaurant. Since it’s going to take me a little more effort to reply to you one by one on Instagram, let me spill it here: it’s NOT.
I feel like kedai roti bakar is now a growing trend in the Jakarta’s F&B scene. The last two or three months, I’ve seen such a good growing number of them, and personally, I’ve tried like 70% of them, including Kedai Keibar, which just opened its newest branch in Cibubur.

Last week I went to have a meeting for an upcoming project and my client wanted to meet me at this place called "TYPOLOGY" located in Jalan Wijaya 1. I've neved heard of this place before but as he mentioned this I thought this would be a coffee shop with hipster feeling (kinda sounds like it eh?) but as I arrived at the location, it was actually a brand new restaurant, currently still three weeks old, and yes with that hipster feeling to it :).

TYPOLOGY Jakarta

It’s the time of the year that Jakarta's weather is not friendly, occasional weather transition affects me in such a negative way, I am currently suffering from a bad flu and occasionally having headache. This is not tolerable for an active person like me since my activity is mostly mobile, sometimes I have to be in like... four places a day and I have to face the extreme weather without any shield.. hashtag help me I’m weak!

And during this time, I also need protection from the enemy, this refers to the weather, it’s like lately the weather has become the contender and the battlefield, and I need a perfect friend for a tag-team. I’m talking about something that’s edible (of-freaking-course), refreshing, tasty and most importantly... healthy!

So what's the perfect Healthy Indulgence treats? Hmm...

So the other day I was walking in a mini-market and found this product I have never seen before, along with the curiosity and since it’s freaking green tea!!! (which I am such a sucker for). I decided to purchase this particular beverage!

Now I have my current favorite green tea beverage/healthy indulgence!

Presenting you...

ICHI OCHA GREEN TEA from Indofood!

Decided to purchase not only one, but THREE!

One sip and it was... DIFFERENT in a good way! Talk about uniqueness.

I knew something was different, it’s like you could feel the strong extract of the green tea but with overall balanced sweetness, plus I love the honey-ish flavor to the tea, it’s adding the natural touch to the product. I don’t like it when I have my green tea with a lot of sugar because I feel like drinking sugar water with tea extract while what supposed to be the opposite, but this one was executed really well!

One thing you must know about Ichi Ocha is that the tea is processed with ONE TIME BREWING PROCESS! *confetti*

Now I can release my worries, at least I know I wasn't drinking left-outs!

The tea leaves that they're using is the Ichiban leaves with natural intense scent and aroma. Now I know why it smells a little bit like jasmine flowers and tasted like honey-infused.
Took a sip of the middle one because I couldn't stand the aroma! So freaking good!

The thing with one time brewing process is that you get the best quality out of the tea extract! Let's picture this, if let's say you have your afternoon tea somewhere and when you realize that your tea's emptying and you ask for the hot water refill, the second one must not tasted as nice as the first one right? BAM! Piece of cake!

Or let's say the first cut is the deepest #oh.

Do you know why I've been raving so much about green tea in my posts? It’s because not only that green tea tastes freaking good (at least for me), it’s also healthy. Guess what? I have even done a lot of researches about the advantage of green tea to our system. It’s no secret that green tea is extremely rich in anti-oxidant polyphenols, but do you guys know WHY? It’s because green tea leaves are the least-processed feature and they’re NOT fermented like most black teas, instead of that, the just-harvested leaves were steamed. Damn I feel smart right now.

Anyway, not to mention, Green tea also contains various bio-active compounds to keep us healthy (also lower the risk of Cancer), improve the function of the brain and what probably most important for most humans: INCREASE THE FAT BURNING! I know, I know, you’re welcome, you must be all excited knowing that green tea increases fat burning. So if you really read, see how important the role of green tea in our lifes? All hail the holy green tea.

So what’s really special about Ichi Ocha green tea comparing to the common brands?

First and probably the most essential is the flavor and the quality it brought, I am talking about the health quality here. This might look like an ordinary green tea drink sold in the supermarket stalls but I found this to be in between light and strong. The consistency is light but the flavor is pretty strong but overall not overpowering. It has this green tea and jasmine fragrance to it which risen up the taste bud and also the honey-ish flavor. In a nutshell, something you drink but doesn’t intimidate you like a killer.

The tea is really clear and mild, talk about purity based on the one time brewing process!

I am truly rooting for the healthy lifestyle, I am completely aware that my food blogging activity automatically means I have to deal with different types of food everyday which contains various form of compound, but thank goodness I am currently managing to really look after whatever that I eat each and everyday plus I consume a lot of organic green vegetables and also consuming tea and honey products, the tea must be in the form of fresh leaves or else get the hell out! Major NO to the bloody cheapskates!

From all those amazing things I found from Ichi Ocha, I guess this is a one hell-o-va awesome product: Tasty? Check! Freshness? Check, Healthy? Double freaking check! Healthy doesn't always mean yucky right?

Now you can bring a little piece of Japanese at home or... on the go! :).

Ichi Ocha Green Tea is available in two sizes and affordable prices: 500 ml for IDR 5k and 350 ml for IDR 3.9k BUT WAIT! Since it's on the promotion days get the SPECIAL PRICE! 500 ml for IDR 3.9k and 350 ml for IDR 2,9k.

This post is brought to you by Ichi Ocha Indofood.

LUC is a new restaurant and bar opening in the famous neighborhood, Wolter Monginsidi, yes around Senopati area. Senopati and around has truly been the boulevard of sinful treats because there are so many restaurants opening in area serving you almost all kinds of food you name it! It's overwhelming reminding that in a month there is at least one new restaurant opening indicating so many rich people here in Jakarta!

Okay, back to the topic, LUC is a western themed restaurant serving mostly western food but I learned that the purpose of LUC being built was actually to introduce the public the art of Whiskey! So basically LUC supposed to be known as Whiskey bar but since the owner thought it would be way cooler to have food accompanying the Whiskey (yes the PR told me) so there you go. For the food, LUC is focusing on grilled food and bar food because they're considered to support the Whiskey (more on that so keep reading).

The place was not THAT spacious but it was really comfortable, I went here during the raining hours and the ambiance was just exciting! That "blue" mood was on while the lounge music was playing smoothly. As you can see from the pictures, the interior might not be decorated with the fanciest stuff there is, it's actually very simple and minimalist but there's something about it that made me love it! You could also choose your seating between the dining tables or bar area if you're up to casual drinks.

Anyway, speaking about drinks, I learned that Whiskey is best served as what it is, no mixture (cocktail mix), except having it "Single Malt", and that's why LUC only serves pure Whiskey and you won't find such thing as Whiskey cocktail here in LUC, you could still have their signature cocktails but without Whiskey, maybe Vodka or Gin. Another good thing to point out here about LUC Whiskey, you could have it per glass, so you don't need to buy the damn expensive bottles and have it by glass as how you prefer.

Superb Whiskey collection display for everyone's eyes. Not exactly everyone but those who dine here!

The meal kicked off with the Bar food. Frankly speaking, they DO NOT serve the food like this in general serving, it's just for me that they made it in platter presentation. As you can see, this portion consist of Quesadilla, Chops (beef), onion rings, Bruschetta, Fried spring rolls and Salmon Salmon on rocket bread. My favorite one must be their onion rings and the spring rolls, they were beautifully seasoned, lovely crunchiness and generous filling for the spring rolls. The Quesadilla was near to great but I guess they should put on braver seasoning because they were sort of plain, the Bruschetta was actually good, only I guess that the tomato dressing was a little wet for the bread.

Grilled Chicken Breast Mushroom
IDR 79k
This following was sort of a success, the chicken was cooked nicely, even though honestly I was expecting the meat to be juicier, but the seasoning was great. On the other hand, the sauteed mushrooms was the friggin BOMB! The seasoning might be a little salty but I found that over-saltiness to be the main quality, guessing it came from the butter as well, you simply CAN'T have too much butter <3.

Fettuccine Aragosta with Lobster
IDR 279k
When it was served right on to the table, I simply couldn't wait to 'abuse' this, as it looked VERY TEMPTING. I knew exactly that the fettuccine was home made and I was right, there's something different with pastas you bought from the supermarkets and those you made yourself and I truly appreciate the effort. The lobster meats given to this portion was generous, the pasta was 'al-dente' and on the proper consistency but I found that the overall seasoning was not very strong and more like plain, they should increase that tomato kick or made this spicier and probably creamier as how I imagined.

Sergio's Gin
IDR 120k
The Sergio's Gin is one of LUC's signatures and surprisingly, I found this drink to be light and I could still take it, maybe it's because of the 'rocks' (for the record, I am not an avid drinker), so I guess it's certainly not bad for a first-timer and like what people said, this might be 'ladies' drink'.

Frozen Blue Margarita
IDR 120k
Another LUC's signatures, what's unique about the frozen margarita series in LUC is that there will be jelly on the bottom and it's set to be the exact flavor of the frozen margarita you ordered. This one was another light one, the alcohol was not very strong, and surprisingly, for someone like me, I was expecting it to be bolder, sweeter and tastier. It had that little lychee flavor to it even though not very significant.

In case you're wondering, the jelly's flavor was lychee.

By the way, they're having the HAPPY HOUR promotion from Monday to Friday, 4 - 8 PM BUY 2 GET 1 FREE WHISKEY, and every Wednesday from 6 PM-drop, BUY 1 GET 1 FREE!

The food may not be out of the world good, but when you go here, you are not only paying for the food, but the ambiance as well, well the ambiance was pretty nice and proper enough as your weekend destination with your buddies or simply having lunch time here :). Pricing wise, pretty much affordable, well don't look at that lobster course tag, it's friggin lobster for its own sake, other than that, quick browsing on the menu, the pricing was still okay.

Couple of weeks ago, I went to Stockroom, it was a sudden visit because me and some other bloggers were wondering where to go after Dapur Solo, and then the name Stockroom came up and since Kemang and Panglima Polim was not a thousand miles away, we decided to pay a visit before having diner at HYDE, and yes, those three were accomplished in one freaking day, such ambitious bloggers.

I noticed that Stockroom was not only an eatery, but it's also a trading place (easily described: a distro) located on the upper floor and they sold leather items (LOVE!) and some fashionable items which were mostly high fashion but hipster-ish IMO, didn't take any picture because I thought it's not allowed but it was around the same width as the eatery below, the eatery itself was not very spacious but the ambiance was perfect. Loving their usage of earthy materials, reminded me of those cafes in Melbourne.

We ordered some of their treats on the menu and share everything! We went by having their Fish and Chips and Roasted Chicken for main courses and tried some of their beverages such as:

Iced Lychee Tea
IDR 25k
They have selections of flavored ice teas such as this one, peach and strawberry. This was pretty refreshing even though nothing really special.

Fruit Loops Milkshake
IDR 45k
If you happen to visit Stockroom, make sure you tried their milkshare series as it's what they're best known for and recommended. This Fruit Loops Milkshake was pretty good with awesome balance of sweetness, nothing very fragrant and the not so overpowering milk flavor (thank goodness). This surely worth your try.

Iced Caramel Machiato
IDR 32k
I had high expectations for their coffees but too bad the coffees were total meh, it's almost like drinking a coffee-water, it didn't have the coffee kick, too plain, too light, it was just wrong, told this to the manager and he explained that Stockroom wasn't specialized in coffee, a little unfortunate honestly because Stockroom actually looked like a place that serves decent coffees, they should really work on their coffees because I could imagine my self hanging out here for one or two cups of coffee while doing my works. I didn't give a damn about latte art because I personally think latte art was not the super essential part of coffee, it's just making the appearance of the latte to look prettier, but flavor must be good!

Fish and Chips
IDR 78k
Aside from the not so pleasant coffees, their food was freaking amazing, they reflected food which were made by professionals. Loving this Fish and Chips, it had that pleasant flavor, the skin coating might not be extra crispy but that's certainly not a problem. As simple as their fries were really good and nicely seasoned. The Dory fish meat was still on the smooth and silky texture. Must try!

Roasted Chicken
IDR 68k
Pleasure didn't stop on the previous main course, their take on roasted chicken deserved my thumbs up! Loving how they executed the cooking process for this roasted chicken, it was nicely roasted (must be on a decent temperature!), lightly seasoned and it had strong scent from the rosemary leaves that risen my sense of appetite. The baby potatoes were also nice both texture and seasoning.

To be honest, when I first stepped in to Stockroom, I wasn't expecting the food to be that good, I thought the coffees were the bombs but the thing is it was the exact opposite. Not recommending you to have your coffee time here but the food was really really good, and as well as their ambiance. Please please improve the coffee at least for me!!!

Told you right! It's like each and every week, new restaurants are opening and the Jakarta's F&B venture is getting more and more colorful, but colorful doesn't always mean 'festive', sometimes the dark colors just wrongly applied. Anyway went to MAD Jakarta's press launching yesterday and couldn't wait to blog this because I want to introduce you guys to this new F&B joint in Lotte Shopping Avenue.

MAD which stands for "Modern Asian Diner" was born out of the mad but in a way genius idea from its founders: Dick Lee and Andrew Chow who thought that food is now a part of lifestyle, beside its main role as necessity. MAD restaurant is a part of the famous Singapore F&B group, Tung Lok which also handled some other well-known restaurants like Taipan (WTC Mangga Dua), Ming Dine and Chill (Epicentrum Walk) and the newly launched "My Humble House". Dick Lee is probably quite famous back in his hometown Singapore (yes MAD is originally from Singapore) because he's one of the judges in a talent show there. This particular restaurant is offering you selections of multi-dimentional dining experience (as what they claimed), but from what I saw from the menu it's mostly the fusion from Western and Asian cuisine, but don't worry guys, even though this was a press-launching, fortunately I still got the chance to try out some of the menus *nomnom* and that's why I'm blogging this! But before that, as usual: PHOTO-PROLOGUES!

ENTRANCE! The logo's inspired out of Dick Lee's face, I thought it represents a girl's face, but it was actually Dick Lee's face dressed in a Chinese-design crown, but anyway LOVE the logo!

Fresh flowers everywhere since they just officially opened for public around a week ago.

The interior of the restaurant was certainly like no other that I've seen before, it's very spacious with youthful, modern design touch but also unique and quirky, you'll see hip graphics everywhere, lamps rolling around the ceiling (see below), I wasn't feeling like I was in a restaurant, more like a loft with dining tables, but there's a quality that I like about it: they're very confident with their design. I bet this place looks more glamorous during the night. Just beside the dining tables, there's an open kitchen for everyone's eyes and to ensure yourself that nobody's spitting on your food.

Live music with percussion items made out of used tins and kitchen utensils. Nice.

Each guest was given this refreshing drink called "Strawberry Shortcake", LOVE this it indeed got that strawberry cake flavor infused to this drink, in a way like drinking a strawberry cake! It had a proper sweetness and sourness and presentation wise, as you can see, beautiful!!!

The service was really impeccable, the servers were really attentive, funny thing was that each row's supposed to be for five participants, I sat on the second row and there were only three people including me but they still serve the food for five people, get what I am saying? EXTRAS!

Mr. Yohan Handoyo, a wine expert and one of the owners of MAD Jakarta.
We got the chance to try out 4 food samplers: three appetizers and one main-course. Even though they were samplers, but I adore how they presented the food on the plate, simple but pretty. The first course was the appetizer samplers that consists of: Truffle Dumpling, Cream Crab Croquette and Spring Roll. The Truffle Dumpling hands down one of the best dumplings I've had in life, the skin was moist and on a perfect thickness, the filling was generous (more vegetable cuts) and the whole thing just burst in your mouth! A little glimpse of Truffle oil to make it better, the aroma of the Truffle oil just rose up the appetite!

Cream Crab Croquette
This was another fascinating delicacy, it was nicely cooked, deep fried with crispy coating, but not leaving the whole thing to be oily, loving the mustard dressing as it helped the play of flavor. Frankly speaking, I wasn't really capturing the crab flavor.

Spring Roll
This MAD spring roll was another thing to drive me mad in a pleasant way, technically it was simple but the flavor result was rich with the touch of freshness from the fresh ingredients. The spring roll skin was thin and moist, it was garnished with cucumber and light nut sauce. Well executed.

The appetizers were pretty impressive and the next to be served was the main course, they served us this Josper Grilled Wagyu Claypot Rice (IDR 198k), the rice was still hard (which is good) and me loving the dry parts sticking on the claypot's surface even more (bet everyone does). The wagyu beef was perfectly cooked, extremely tender and juicy and the egg was still runny and fresh, I love the runny egg texture, but one thing's missing from this dish, it's just that it's lack of that seasoning kick and the flavor was just not brave bold and brave enough for me, and it's relatively pricy for almost IDR 200k (before tax).
Mr. Yohan Handoyo and Mr. Tommy Irawan
One awesome thing about MAD is that the kitchen's equipped with a motoric-automatic wok! Easy way to wok the food and save some rupiahs to pay the kitchen staff's salary (JUST KIDDING!).
We were also taken to a quick tour of the newly launched "My Humble House" which was located on the fifth floor of Lotte Shopping Mall (the fine-dining areas), it's a Chinese restaurant and the concept was clearly different from MAD, it's more proper for family dining. My Humble House Jakarta serves mostly Chinese inspired menus and this particular outlet in Jakarta is their fourth outlet after opening in Tokyo, Beijing, and Mumbay before.

The seating capacity of My Humble House is around 200 people including 8 VIP rooms for a more private dining session with your loved ones.

Looking forward to come and have a nice dimsum time with my family.

I am completely aware that this is not a complete review as I only tried some of their menus but from what I experienced, they have pretty decent food but it also came with a relativey hefty price-tag. MAD is planning to open other branches in Bali and Surabaya so crossed fingers for that! GOOD LUCK!
