I mentioned on my previous post just how big this year is for coffee, and NOW ANOTHER ONE!

After terrific success of Ombe Kofie followed by yet another successful Southern sibling, Djule Kofi, they are finally opening their third coffee shop, or should I say cafe? MAARKEZE in Grand Indonesia, and as this entry is posted, I just went there a few hours ago for a brunch date with my dear friend, Yenny from Yenny Makan Mulu <3
The Southerners should cheer because one of my most favorite coffee shops in Jakarta is finally opening another branch of theirs! Congratulations Common Grounds (especially Yoshi, Yanto and Aston) for the opening of your newest shop in Pondok Indah Mall 2, damn this year is so huge for coffee!
Attention everyone: NALU BOWLS is finally opening in Jakarta, making it one of the newest cafes in Jakarta as this post is written.

My good friends from Jogjakarta happened to be in town and it was their idea to have lunch here and I did the reservation. For those who don't know, Li Feng (which by the way means "beauty in abundance) is the new culinary venture from Mandarin Oriental Hotel replacing their previous Chinese restaurant, Xin Hwa. May you rest in peace Xin Hwa, you were awesome.
August was a bit slow comparing to June/July, I hope September is as "ceria" as the title of the song "September Ceria". September 2016 marks the opening of two new shopping malls in Jakarta: Neo Soho and PIK Avenue, I predict more and more coffee shops are opening and I really do hope to see more and more brunch cafes as we're heading there, but still lacking the amount as well as the good ones, but so far, this year has been terrific for F&B as most of the new coffee shops, cafes and restaurants have been intensifying the importance of quality after just being physically beautiful. Kudos to 2016 so far!
The Union group is certainly a group of creative people with class and whatever they create never cease to disappoint me in any form, after being hugely successful with Union followed by the other establishments under their name, their latest establishment is now specially dedicated for steak enthusiasts, I give you... BISTECCA.
Bistecca is technically the neighbor of its own sibling, The Dutch, which is also located in the same area at 18 Parc SCBD. Something about how Bistecca looked from outside that reminded me of Union Deli in Grand Indonesia, but in general, the restaurants under Union group are gorgeous with great attention to details and pretty much on this same Fancy Vintage New York pub-like designs which I completely fall for.

This restaurant is currently THE talk of the town, and the fact that Izakaya Kai is owned by power culinary couple Adhika Maxi and Karen Carlotta just made the image even more charming, even before I actually went here.
The Fukuoka-Hakata originated ramen house, Hakata Ikkousha, recently launched their newest menu to the already impressive menu line up: MAZESOBA, but before talking exclusively about the new menu, I will talk about the restaurant in general and taking you on this roller-coaster flashback ride to one of the most successful yet established ramen houses in Jakarta.
Earlier today I got invited to attend the opening of Cupbop Korean BBQ at Gandaria City shopping mall in South Jakarta. The event was attended by so many foodie friends (didn't have the chance to catch up with all of them but if you're reading this you know I am saying hi to you through this post :D).
Interior still dominated with majority black and yellow color
I did not expect to love Da Nang as much as I eventually did when I first came to the city, and to be completely honest, I was a bit skeptical, especially after reading tons of Vietnam trip stories on people's blogs where most of them told the world how bad their experience was, but again, let's say there are 7 billion people in the world, I might happen to stumble on reading the bad stories, and half of them (or possibly more) might have just the most amazing experience in Vietnam but chose not to write and show it off to the world, and I was totally on the pro side as my experience was a good one.
First knew about NORD from FoodDirectory (thank you guys!) and they captured the petite coffee shop beautifully through their pictures so I guess it's time to give it a try!

...and yet another one in town, as this post is written, NORD is the newest coffee shop there is in Jakarta right now. The amount of coffee shops in Jakarta is overwhelming or should I say too many to the point where I don't even know some of them actually exists, they're literally spread all over Jakarta: from the North to the South, from those inside the malls to the independent ones, and unfortunately, only the best ones stand out from the crowd, but I am constantly updating my coffee adventure and share it to you guys.

Disclaimer: this post is going to be photo heavy, but you're gonna love them so keep on reading MWAHAHA!

I finally start writing my Vietnam travel diaries and it's been three days since I came back from my fun trip to Da Nang Vietnam with Air Asia (thank you very much!) and I have been getting nothing but super lack of sleep as I am buried with projects and deadlines! It's been a while since I remember having long undisturbed sleep and I need it badly at the moment (time for a short escape maybe?).

A ton of you has requested me to write the this Vietnam travel guide and story, particularly the French Village and Ba Na Hills, even up until today I still receive requests from you to post my Vietnam travel diaries ASAP and I was also glad that several of my Snapchat followers directly booked the tickets to Vietnam after they watched my snaps of the French Village and Ba Na Hills (I know I abuse my Snapchat with glorious amount of snaps here).
CONGRATULATIONS NEO SOHO SHOPPING MALL FOR FINALLY OPENING!!!

It was a quality time for my family as we went to the opening of the mall and spent some time in both Neo Soho and Central Park (as they have this connecting sky bridge), both the shopping malls are located in the Podomoro City complex in West Jakarta.
They have this NEO Experience space where customers are free to enter and relax inside while "accompanied" with fashion arts from Sofie and Sav Lavin.
You can get this connecting bridge shot from the fourth floor.
If you ask me what's the main difference between Central Park and Neo Soho and why are they located close to one another? Well it's mainly because both the malls are built by the same developer (Agung Podomoro group), but it's the size and concept that differentiate them. Central Park is one of the largest shopping malls in Jakarta, and Neo Soho is smaller, a little more urban-segmented, youthful but fit families as well. Overall, I find myself liking the design of the mall, it's just simple without being pretentious.

Since they're still on their soft-opening days, construction is still happening and little details are being touched up, I would say they're 25 more percent from being finished.

This post is going to be a photo tour, NOT review - I don't freaking review malls.

CENTRAL DEPARTMENT STORE IS OPENING HERE!!! It's a high end department store from Thailand which first opened in Grand Indonesia, it sells a lot of high end fashion items, make-ups, home amenities, bed linen and more!
As for the tenants, I see that they're adding more touch of local brands and establish fashion spaces like "District One" & "Moejoe Man" where you can shop for various fashion items like clothings, accessories, eyewear to Batik outfit. Fashionable watch enthusiasts should be thrilled of knowing that The Watch Co also opens here.
There was an event happening at Our Daily Dose, a concept store mostly focusing on fashion.
Tanamera pop up coffee booth! They gave me an iced cap as complimentary.
As a foodie myself, one of the things that I should love about Neo Soho is their Open Kitchen, which is a nicely designed food court (almost cafe like) located on the fourth floor where you can find yet again, local establishments. It literally feels like you're in a food court/bazaar with various stuff to choose starting from light bites, main courses to desserts.

List of food tenants that's opening and will be opening in short time (as this post is written): Born Ga, Chef Tony's, Coco Ichibanya, Go!Curry, Gyu-Kaku, Hejo-Hejo, Holycow!, Imperial Lamian, Kkuldak, Marugame Udon, Pablo Cheesecake, PappaJack, Kitchen by Pizza hut, Provence bakery, Rejuve, Rotiboy, Shaburi, Wendys and Sanukiseimen Mugimaru.
Open Kitchen dining area
Two stories below the Ground, you can go and find more restaurants like Pizza Hut, Marugame Udon, Shaburi (I had dinner here last night), Imperial Lamian, Kkuldak and many more! Pablo Cheesecake is opening here as well!

The Rotiboy queue, they're having the buy one get one promotion.
Kkuldak love <3
So glad that Shaburi now has their Tom Yum soup damnit!!!!!
The bridge light will illuminate at night creating a beautiful sparkling path to walk on <3
Looking forward to what they have in store after everything else is ready and open. They are currently building the largest shopping mall indoor aquarium on their LG level and automatically becomes the first and largest one to date (rumor has it that the construction will finish on December 2016). Don't forget to come and take a 360 degree picture at the Life At 360 where your profile will be taken with 360 degree camera with direct upload to the mall's Instagram account.
THANK YOU FOR READING!
