This blog post is seriously HIGHLY requested and when I say highly requested literally every single day after I posted my purchase on my Instagram Stories at least 2-3 people ask me for the review and guess what? You're now looking at the review aka first impressions of the products that I have been trying from Innisfree Indonesia!
If people ask me what's the 'it' weapon to become a good food blogger, well aside from being able to write and take good food pictures, your palate is everything, after all one's review will always be based on what the palate tasted and then you write a story about it, that's why it's very-very important to take good care of it! (FYI your palate = your mouth and its main features: tongue, gum, teeth)
The highly anticipated Uncle Tetsu Shop from Fukuoka, Japan is finally here! Following their success in Malaysia (and after 8 outlets spread around the country), Jakarta is next! The grand opening of this famous cheesecake brand is going to be held this April 8th 2017 and I was very fortunate to be invited for an exclusive preview today and keep reading as they have special treat for everyone (but if you follow me on Instagram I think you should have known about it LOL!).
Hi guys, this will be an entry about my well spent weekend yesterday and I spent the whole day doing cafe hopping with my good friends from Surabaya (hi Jack and Zef) - and because I was on my lazy mode yesterday (and the fact that it rained very hard and there was barely light to shoot) I didn't go around to take a lot of pictures of each places, and just some proper food and beverage shots, but the ones that I went yesterday were the newly opened places that could be visited if you're looking for hot new places to hangout!
So earlier today, me, my sister, Yenny, Cindy and Aline briefly met up at this newly opened chocolate cafe in Kemang: Moreau (read: moro) Chocolatier's Cafe and my experience was kinda exciting hence this review and because I want to share it to you (and I think this deserves more attention). I heard from the staff here that this place is owned by a Syrian who also owns this kind of cafe in Dubai (only with a different name) and this Kemang cafe has been opening for one month and located at the exact spot as its previous resident: PONG ME!
Attention everyone! The authentic and original The Cheesecake Factory from United States is coming to Jakarta on March 17th 2017, well technically it's here but it will be launched on that day because of course, eatandtreats got it first covered for you! The California originated cheese cake brand has chosen Food Hall Plaza Indonesia as its first product launching destination and soon followed by more places in short time.

One of the good new findings from my latest Bandung trip has got to be this newly opened steakhouse (as this post is written: 2 months old) located also not too far from Sejiwa. Marty's Smokehouse is located in Vio Hotel Cimanuk but I am not 100% percent sure if the restaurant is part of the hotel's F&B or the owner actually owns both property, there are two entrances to the restaurant, one's via the hotel entrance and then turn right, or you can directly go from outside where they have this tiny door directly to their semi-outdoor seating.
So I literally just arrived back from Bandung, couldn't sleep and in the mood to write something, I slept the whole time on the way and now feeling so refreshed, especially after taking a bath, thought I just share you my experience visiting this very happening pop-up Yogurt studio located in Paris Van Java Bandung: Yoforia!
Bakmi Mewah first came to public around a year ago and not too long followed by the hype it received as they were the first to come with the instant "bakmi abang-abang" concept. Bakmi Mewah is another venture by Mayora group whose fame you couldn't deny as they're one of the long lasting big players in the food industry and brands like Beng Beng, Kopiko, Astor, and Choki-Choki are managed by the company.
...and I just recently tried it to test out the hype, it was a simple, easy and hassle-free lunch and did not cost me a lot of time.

UNBOXING
What's inside one box of Bakmi Mewah
The packaging is definitely fancier than most instant noodle you can find in town. The design was simple yet appear classy with major black color, gold font and carton box packaging the noodle, sesame oil, soysauce, spring onion, chili sauce and chicken & mushroom toppings. I was surprised to find that there was NO powder ingredient here, so I guess this product probably doesn't consist of MSG. As for the oil, while other instant noodle opt to include "vegetable oil", Bakmi Mewah actually gave the fragrant "sesame oil". Good start.
Photos below are not altered or styled in any way (just add in a few pieces of cut spring onion). What you see is what you get.
Chicken and mushroom topping close up
So my review of Bakmi Mewah? First let's start with the noodle. I found that when you cook it right like I did (2 straight mins on a high temperature) you should get this perfectly chewy curly noodle that's deliciously firm in the same time, and when it comes to the boiling the spring onion together, it's your preference, some like and some don't. The combination of soysauce and the sesame oil gave an additional salty and savory seasoning. The chicken and mushroom toppings were a bit saucy, sort of like the additional broth to the noodle.
To add more fun to the dining experience, you can totally add something crispy like nugget or chicken katsu that should work just fine. Additional soft boiled egg won't hurt as well.
The current retail price per box is around IDR 6300 (and may vary in the future) but it's definitely cheaper than Indomie Real Meat. Now the big question is definitely whether I pick this or Indomie Real Meat? Now it's a bit unfair to actually compare the two as they both are different, both packaging are fancy but the product is actually not identical. Bakmi Mewah keep it simple with the traditional stall noodle while Indomie Real Meat was the tweak of their original product.

To keep it fair, both has their own pros and cons.

I find it hard to believe that Talita Setyadi launched BEAU two years ago, I literally went to check their Instagram and the brand was first established back in late 2014 around this time and followed by the first BEAU store in Plaza Indonesia a couple of months after. Time is scarily flying faster that it probably should hmm.

Attention everyone: NALU BOWLS is finally opening in Jakarta, making it one of the newest cafes in Jakarta as this post is written.
I was looking at the calendar and as this Mango Tango post is written just to realize I went here exactly a week ago. Sometimes it's just overwhelming to see how fast time flies, in this case the experience was so fresh that I still remember vividly of the desserts. Geez we're not getting younger.
Sea Grain is Double Tree Hilton’s newest F&B establishment, following its previous successors: Open}, KREM and T Lounge, Sea Grain officially opened its door for public on February 3rd.
I have never been a big fan of udon, it’s just that I don’t really like thick and slimy type of noodle, but luckily, I AM a big soup person!

When Marugame first came to the scene, I started to appreciate udon more, exactly that kind of feeling when you finally found a good and humble place to have udon in town (tbh I never really looked out for ramen but since the hype of Marugame was pretty big at that time). Last week, I went to have lunch with my brother at the newly opened Tamoya Udon in Emporium, and boy I am now a freaking convert, by convert I mean my interest towards udon and Tamoya is now my favorite place to have udon at the moment.

All my life, I feel like it’s totally okay and normal for you to update on your relationship. Comparing to 2012, I am a completely changed person. There’s this story circa 2012 that would take at least 5 entries to write, but I choose to bury everything deep and take it as a lesson.

Why do I feel like it’s normal? Because I believe I am not the only one doing it.

I am the type of person who doesn’t label people easily, because I just don’t feel like I need one and I believe people change, including myself.

To be honest, I don’t even know who my “best friend” is at the moment. The top three on my list are always God, family and that one very good friend, even when I am fighting with my family, that one very good friend could be number two, and when I am fighting with both of them, then I still have one God who listens to all my problems.

No it’s not going to be that religious post, but this is the truth, you don’t always need anybody to tell you that you’re okay. Honey, YOU are the reason why you’re doing okay and you’re not. Life is about how you take it and make it.

It’s Wednesday and I don’t know why I am highly outraged and stressed this week with works and maintaining some relationships. I have major trust issues towards certain people at the moment.

Back to when I say I don’t know who my “best friend” is at the moment, because seriously I feel very left out at the moment, that I am eventually feel very tired to keep up with them so if they need me they can just come to me, and if they don’t then it’s okay, but the thing is, I AM STOPPING myself from keeping up with them because I do feel like a stupid little puppy begging for attention and it’s super pathetic.

...and I am feeling very tired because I just am. I have other priorities to take care.

Your life is not based on people’s POV about you, it’s always about you, and trust me I’ve been through so much to even have the gut to say this. Love yourself, that’s the most important thing.

Nothing pisses off people more than your success! So shine bright bitches, just like diamonds!

PS: I know my blog is called eatandtreats, but seriously eat this post and treat your soul well.

As a local tourist, the life in Bali is like the best days you can have off Jakarta, even when it’s not Sunday, it does feel like everyday Sunday. I don’t know exactly how many times I’ve been to Bali in my life, but each visit is always special, especially this year, since I haven’t gone to Bali since December (to celebrate New Year), my last Bali trip – that just ended two days ago – felt extremely special.
My life routine requires me to be mobile all the time, and stay connected to the world.

Well, in this case, the internet world.
This post is the continuation of this post as on my last Singapore trip, I stayed at the awesome Westin Hotel Singapore. I don’t know about you, but I am that kind of person who’s looking for fun and comfort in the same time when I am travelling. I have no intention to be cocky or arrogant, as I have my own opinion, but I love balancing the tireness of strolling around the city the whole day with the joy of relaxing on a good large bath tub and comfortable bed to sleep on. Westin is a part of Starwood Hotels, along with some famous names like Sheraton, St. Regis, Le Meridien, W hotels and more, and I have been a loyal consumer to them (mostly in Bali), as they have impressed me in so many ways!

There was this black and under-constructed building that caught my attention when I was having my dinner at Ms. Choo and three weeks later, it is now this newly opened chic-looking restaurant in Senopati area called Monty’s, another venture by Klabo Group, the people behind Nip & Dram (in Landmark building) and Ivy's.
This will be a short review of this current highly talked-about place called “The Halal Boys” and their single menu: Gyros rice, and yes from its name, the food served here is HALAL certified. It’s located just opposite the Manadonese restaurant, Beautika, in the form of island stand (so it’s tiny with several tables and seats). If you’ve heard about “The Halal Guys” in New York City, the concept is pretty much the same.
