THE REPUBLIC OF BURGER KEMANG

There are not a lot of gourmet burger houses in Jakarta so it's quite easy for me to refer to when people ask me where to have good burgers in Jakarta. The Republic of Burger is definitely on that top part of my list. A week ago, I took my brother to have lunch at their Kemang branch (which has been around for a year +), they have several outlets spread around town, but the Kemang branch is personally the one that I like the most, it might not the most spacious, but has access to the warm daylight (if you're lucky getting the seat by the window), and somehow more spacious than their previous Cipete outlet.

There was not much happening to the interior design, they keep it super simple and a bit artsy at certain parts (with murals and paper arts) but still pretty comfy as a burger house. I think we can conclude that their specialties has got to be their artisan burgers, but quick scan of the menu and they have various options of light bites and pastas as well.

Nutella Freeze - IDR 39k

I would say that their Nutella drink is one of the tastiest ones I've had comparing to the other ones in their range. It really is a chocolaty drink with rich Nutella jam inside and one scoop of vanilla ice cream to add in the creamy texture, overall it has the right amount of sweet without bloating you out and did I mention they use SKIMMED MILK here? Less calorie yeah!

Summer Breeze - IDR 32k
A pretty, fruity & refreshing tricolor drink, the blue one is soda water, orange = orange juice and the red + grenadine syrup.

Price range for food here starts from IDR 35k-120k and average drink price is around IDR 30-ish

The Poutine Monster - IDR 41k

This happens to be their best-selling appetizer, and it is a simple and delicious nibbles to share with your friends. Their Poutine Monster consist of 350 gram Canadian shoestring fries topped with Bockwurst sausage cuts and dressed in their signature Volcano sauce and mayonnaise. I did not find the Volcano sauce to be spicy at all, not sure if they have adjusted it or each of us had different take on spicy things.

Frankenstein Monster Burger

Unless you have an appetite like monster, I suggest coming to the Republic of Burger with a friend because the default portion of their burgers are quite large with 250 grams of beef patties made from premium Australian wagyu beef, apparently after checking out their menu, Republic of Burger is kid-friendly as they also offer "junior menus" for the juniors with lighter 150 grams of beef patty.

Their Frankenstein Monster is probably the most appealing and tempting menu in their list and that means IN THE FUCKIN ORDER! The huge burger consist of unbelievable toppings such as 250 gram beef patty with cheddar cheese topping, topped with chicken katsu, another 250 gram beef patty with cheedar, topped again with sunny side up, onion rings & a closure bun! The serving comes with shoestring fries and curly fries as well, Their beef patty is seriously tender, and I think you can easily tell that from how it looks and the crazy toppings that this is cray good! Talk about guilty pleasure times 100, and it was!

The Republican Monster - IDR 77k
This was one of the first and the star when it comes to mentioning the best selling menu here in ROB, this is basically the more "humble" & "single" take on their Frankenstein Monster minus the katsu, sunny side up, another patty but they add in the bacon here if you fancy one. The patty? juicy and tender with tasty Volcano sauce and vegetable on the side (but honestly everyone is getting over the veges LOL). If you don't have that monster appetite and came alone, I suggest having their Republican Monster with fries on the side (you can opt between pompons, waffle fries, curly fries or Aussie fries)

Juicy Lucy Monster - IDR 72k
It might be the most plain looking comparing to the previous two, but this one has a more intense cheese flavor, patty that is just as juicy & tender and altogether nicely seasoned. I haven't talked about their buns here, I found them perfectly soft and fluffy and carry the whole burger and its topping nicely.

GOOD BURGERS, FRIENDLY PRICE, AND DEFINITELY ONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO HAVE GOURMET BURGERS IN JAKARTA! Republic of Burger, you're just awesome! GOOD LUCK!
